Most of the time, you do not put a lot and efforts and you do not pay a lot of attention when it comes to your underwear while getting dressed every day. Probably you are focusing more about the clothes that go on top of this underwear. But maybe that is where you go wrong – your lady parts deserves more consideration and most of the time choosing the wrong one can have serious unpleasant side effects.
To avoid those, we came up with the ultimate guide which will be helpful the next time you are getting dressed.
Cotton is the best choice!
We agree on the fact that it may not be one of the sexiest but we assure you it’s the healthiest. Donnica Moore, M.D, stated “silk and synthetic fabrics are not breathable, which increases the risk of moisture being trapped and retained, which can create a yeast or bacterial infection.” So ladies, if you decide to wear one made from synthetic fabrics, at least choose on with a cotton lined crotch and spare the silky panties for the special occasions where they won’t be staying on for very long.
Limit those thongs.
Thongs may be the best option and solution to get rid of those gross panty lines while rocking in your yoga pants, but they do have some alarming health risks as well. E.Coli is the most common bacteria in the colon, and if you are having it in the back of the fabric, with physical activity it’s very easy for it to move by an inch or two and it lands into the vagina or urethra. So basically, the thong is usually responsible for transferring colonic bacteria to the vagina or urethra. As gross as may that sound, am sure you wouldn’t want it to happen.
Thongs have also been found to cause irritation and skin tags on the vulva and rectum due to their thin materials. Skin tags are probably not what you want to see down there. Well, some of you might be thinking what about cotton thongs! Yes, they are definitely an alternative for short periods of time, but are they really worth it?
Say goodbye to your panties in bed!
Chill, am not asking you to go to bed naked, am just saying it might not be a bad idea to forsake those panties and go commando under your comfy pajamas. Wearing underwear 24/7 often leads to trapped moisture and increased bacteria leading to yeast infection. Hence, forsaking them during your bed time can lower this risk. Let some air go there and let your lady part breathe! If not every night, I recommend you to try it at least few days a week and notice the improvements.
Do not go anywhere without your underwear during the day!
Just because it’s okay to sacrifice them during your sleep doesn’t mean you can just go commando all day. It’s definitely not advisable to go out without your underwear, with your clothes that cause friction specially a pair of jeans; it can lead to chaffing and sores and eventually lead to infections. So, ladies next time someone suggests you to go without your panties say- NO, thank you!
Choose the right size!
No one would want sagging underwear, it would be uncomfortable. But what about a too tight underwear; it’s just as bad and sometimes may even be worse. Wearing a- too tight clothing in any area of your body can lead to chaffing and irritation and the vagina is no exception and that is certainly not a good place to b dealing with chaffed skin! Hence, it’s probably not a good idea to size down when picking your undergarments as from now.
Colors are not always welcomed!
It’s definitely more common to pick out colored and patterned underwear, but it might actually be bad for your health! These fabric dyes can irritate the delicate skin around your vagina- especially if you have a delicate skin and prone to vaginal infections. Hence as heart-breaking as it may sound, but it’s better to stay away from colors when it comes to choosing your next underwear!
These are some of the factors you should not ignore when it comes to your underwear. So ladies, we hope you remember them next time you are picking out your underwear and getting dressed!
